MathsEleven — Terms & Conditions
MathsEleven · a trading name of Essex Education Academy Ltd
1. Who we are
1.1 MathsEleven is a trading name of Essex Education Academy Ltd ("we", "us"), a private limited company registered in England and Wales under company number 17451080.
1.2 Registered office and business address: 105 High Street, Brentwood, Essex, CM14 4RR. Contact: admin@mathseleven.co.uk.
1.3 MathsEleven provides online 11+ maths preparation for the CSSE (Essex) entrance examinations, plus printed practice exam papers sold as one-off purchases.
2. These terms
2.1 These terms, together with our Refund & Cancellation Policy and Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us. They replace anything said elsewhere, and you confirm you have not relied on any statement outside these documents (nothing in this clause limits liability for fraud).
2.2 You must be at least 18 to create an account or place an order. Children use the platform only through child logins that you, the parent or guardian, create and control, and you are responsible for their use.
2.3 We may decline to open an account, accept an order, or offer a trial, at our discretion and without giving reasons, provided we act lawfully.
3. What MathsEleven is (and is not)
3.1 The platform provides practice questions, mock exams, diagnostic assessments, a syllabus tracker, progress reports, mini games and an AI tutor, all designed for CSSE-style 11+ maths preparation.
3.2 All questions and papers are original MathsEleven content written in the style of the CSSE examination. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or supplying official papers of the CSSE (Consortium of Selective Schools in Essex) or any school.
3.3 No outcome is promised or implied. We give no warranty, representation or guarantee as to any exam result, standardised score, school offer, or improvement in performance, and you accept that results depend on factors outside our control.
3.4 We may add, alter, substitute or withdraw individual features at any time. Only a change that materially reduces the overall service you have paid for gives rise to the remedy in clause 15.1.
4. Your account
4.1 Keep your login details secure and confidential. You are responsible for all activity on your account and on the child logins you create, whether or not authorised by you, until you notify us of a breach.
4.2 One account per household. One free trial per household, ever; we may refuse or revoke trials where we reasonably suspect repeat use.
4.3 You must give us accurate information and keep it up to date. We may suspend accounts while we investigate suspected breaches of these terms.
5. Free trial
5.1 The free trial lasts 7 days and requires a valid payment card.
5.2 Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your trial converts automatically into a paid Premium Monthly subscription at £39.95 per month, and your card will be charged on day 8. This is stated at sign-up and in your welcome email, and we send a reminder email three days before the trial converts.
5.3 You can cancel during the trial from your parent dashboard and you will not be charged. We may vary or withdraw the trial offer for new sign-ups at any time.
6. Subscriptions, price and payment
6.1 Plans: Premium Monthly £39.95 per month and Premium Annual £349.95 per year. Current prices and features are as shown on our pricing page at the time you buy. We are not currently registered for VAT, so no VAT is charged on these prices; if we become VAT registered we will give notice under clause 6.4 before any price change takes effect.
6.2 Payment is taken by our payment processor, Stripe. You authorise recurring charges to your saved payment method. We do not store full card details.
6.3 Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. Before an annual renewal we will email a reminder at least 14 days in advance.
6.4 We may change prices with at least 30 days' email notice, effective from your next renewal. Continuing past the renewal date is acceptance of the new price; if you do not accept it, cancel before renewal.
6.5 If a payment fails we may retry it, suspend access until paid, and recover reasonable costs of collection. If you raise a card chargeback on a payment we consider validly taken under these terms, we may suspend the account while it is resolved.
6.6 Obvious pricing errors do not bind us: if a price is plainly mis-stated, we may cancel the affected order or renewal and refund what you paid for it.
7. Cancelling your subscription
7.1 Cancel any time from your parent dashboard. This is the sole self-service route; cancellation by email takes effect only when we confirm it.
7.2 On cancellation you keep access until the end of the period already paid for, and no further billing occurs. Payments already taken are non-refundable except as set out in clause 8 and the Refund & Cancellation Policy.
8. Refunds and your right to change your mind
8.1 Subscription (digital content and services). At checkout you give express consent to immediate supply and acknowledge that you lose the statutory 14-day cooling-off refund once supply begins. Accordingly, subscription payments already taken are non-refundable. We may, entirely at our discretion, review refund requests made within 14 days of a first payment; a request does not entitle you to a refund.
8.2 Printed exam papers (goods). You have the statutory right to cancel within 14 days of delivery and return the papers. This right cannot be excluded; its exact operation (return condition, deductions for use, and return postage at your cost) is set out in the Refund & Cancellation Policy.
8.3 Nothing in this clause affects the statutory remedies in clause 10.
9. Printed exam papers — orders and delivery
9.1 Printed papers are one-off purchases with UK delivery included: Single Paper £20, 2-Paper Bundle £35, 3-Paper Bundle £45, each including detailed written solutions. Premium Annual subscribers receive a 10% discount on the 3-Paper Bundle while their subscription is active. UK delivery addresses only.
9.2 Your order is an offer which we accept on dispatch. We aim to dispatch within 5 working days by Royal Mail and will in any event deliver within 30 days as required by law. We are not responsible for postal delays outside our control once dispatched on time.
9.3 Risk passes to you on delivery to your address (including a safe place or neighbour you have authorised). Ownership passes on payment in full.
9.4 Claims for damage, misprint or non-delivery must be notified within the periods in the Refund & Cancellation Policy.
10. Your statutory rights
10.1 Digital content and goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described (Consumer Rights Act 2015), and nothing in these terms excludes or restricts those rights or any other rights you have by law that cannot be excluded.
11. The AI tutor
11.1 The AI tutor is powered by a third-party artificial-intelligence provider (Anthropic). Its output is generated automatically, may be inaccurate or incomplete, and is provided without any warranty of accuracy. It is a study aid only; you must not rely on it as formal educational advice, and we accept no responsibility for decisions taken in reliance on it (this does not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded).
12. Acceptable use and licence
12.1 All platform content and printed papers — questions, solutions, explanations, mark schemes, designs and software — are our exclusive property or that of our licensors. You receive only a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence for use within your own household for your own child's preparation.
12.2 You must not (and must ensure members of your household do not): share, lend, photocopy, scan, photograph, republish, post online, sell or otherwise distribute any of our content, including printed papers and solutions; provide access to any tutor, tuition business, school or other family; use the content to create competing materials; scrape or bulk-download the platform; reverse-engineer the software; or interfere with security or operation.
12.3 Breach of clause 12.2 is a material breach entitling us to terminate immediately without refund, and we reserve all rights to claim damages and injunctive relief for infringement of our intellectual property. Each printed paper may carry identifying marks enabling us to trace unauthorised copies to the purchasing account.
12.4 "CSSE" is used only to describe the exam our materials are styled on; we claim no rights in it and no connection with the consortium.
13. Suspension and termination by us
13.1 We may suspend or terminate your account immediately for: material or repeated breach of these terms; abusive conduct toward us or our staff; suspected fraud or chargeback abuse; or unlawful use. No refund is due where we terminate for your breach.
13.2 If we withdraw the service entirely or terminate other than for your breach, your sole remedy is a proportionate refund of the unused part of any period paid for.
14. Our responsibility to you
14.1 We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for your statutory consumer rights.
14.2 Subject to 14.1, we are liable only for foreseeable loss directly caused by our breach or negligence, and we are not liable for: exam, admissions or educational outcomes; loss or corruption of data to the extent caused by your systems; losses from events outside our reasonable control (including internet, hosting, AI-provider and postal failures); or any business, professional or resale use of the service, which is not permitted.
14.3 Subject to 14.1, our total aggregate liability to you, however arising, is limited to the amounts you have paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
15. Changes to the service and these terms
15.1 If a change materially reduces the overall service you have paid for, your sole remedy is to cancel and receive a proportionate refund of the unused period.
15.2 We may amend these terms at any time; significant changes take effect 30 days after email notice, and continued use after that date is acceptance. The published version applies to all new purchases.
16. Transfer of this agreement
16.1 We may assign or transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to another business, including on a sale, reorganisation or transfer of the MathsEleven business, without your consent. Your rights are not reduced by any transfer, and we will tell you if it happens. You may not transfer your account or this agreement to anyone else.
17. General
17.1 Governed by the law of England and Wales; courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction (consumers in Scotland or Northern Ireland may also sue there).
17.2 If any clause is found unenforceable it is severed and the rest remain in force. Our delay in enforcing any right is not a waiver of it. Only you and we have rights under these terms.
17.3 Notices from us are validly given by email to your account address and deemed received 24 hours after sending.
17.4 Complaints: email admin@mathseleven.co.uk; we aim to respond within 5 working days.
